Fucik Throws One-Hitter As Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity Defeats Fort Bend Bush
Ashley Fucik was brilliant on the rubber on Tuesday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity past Fort Bend Bush 20-1.
Fucik collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity to victory. Fucik singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth.
In the first inning, Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity got their offense started when Star Ferguson hit a solo homer.
Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity tallied ten runs in the third inning. Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity’s offense in the inning came from doubles by Lauren Hatch, Paris Ferguson, and Fucik, singles by Ferguson and Sammy Slater, and a walk by Jasmyne King.
Fucik led things off in the circle for Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity. She lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out six and walking one.
Tasi P was in the pitcher’s circle for Fort Bend Bush. She surrendered 20 runs on 18 hits over five innings, striking out two.
Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity socked one home run on the day. Ferguson went yard in the first inning.
Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity tallied 18 hits. Fucik, Ferguson, Slater, Hatch, and Ferguson all had multiple hits for Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity. Fucik led Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity with four hits in five at bats. Sandra Ramirez led Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases. Fort Bend Kempner Cougar Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Bailey Bartlet made the most plays with six.
